- Project Statement for Visual Communication Class 2—-The Air Pollution
This Video that I made is for the visual communication class. It is related to the topic that I chose at the beginning of the class, which is about the Air Pollution, especially for the Beijing’s air pollution problem. In order to make this video more believable, I did an interview with BanBan who is a girl that born and grew up in Beijing. In this case, I believe that she must have a lot to say about Beijing’s air pollution. So this video that I created is based on this interview. I edited the audio of the interview and added the animation to it.
By creating this video, I want to raise people’s awareness of the global air pollution. Nowadays, air pollution is becoming the mean environmental problem in China. It has threat lots of people’s health and it gets more and more seriously in the recent years. I want to use the real story and my friend’s personal experience to tell more people that air pollution is not a problem that far away from us. It is a real serious story that happened every day and the story is telling the people who around us. Besides, the reason for me to create an animation instead of a documentary film is that that I want this video to be viewed by both adult and children together.
2. Project Statement for Fashion Consumerism Project for Design Studio Class
In this Project, I made a website and a fashion collection. I want to come up with a system that can deal with the consumerism problem. For the collection, each piece of clothing that from this collection has a part that made form the recycled clothes. This recycling part will be marked with color, it can be a hat, pocket or another part of the clothes.People can choose the fabric that they want to use for the recycle part of the clothes. All of those clothes will be sold on a website that I created. For people who donate their clothes to us will get a coupon code, which they can enter the code to get discount on their next purchase.
This project is based on one of the issues that fashion create. The reason for me to choose the topic of consumerism is because as a designer I always feel that this is an issue that has the closest relationship to our lives. Since we always spending money on some clothes that we seldom wear or even never been worn. This consume are beyond the basic need we just want to satisfy our want. As a result of consumerism, the landfill problem was created at the since time because of the excessive discarded of clothes. So as a designer, I think we have to do something to deal with this problem by using our own knowledge.
3. Project Statement For Creative Tec 1
This project we have to make clothes that have something to do with the movement. I got my inspiration from fishes. One of the reason for me to choice fishes as my inspiration is because their movement always makes me feel claim, peace, quiet as well as leisure. It is kind of lifestyle that I pursued. By carefully observe their tail, I find they are really pretty light and all most transparent that make them look just like they are floating in the water.
So in this project, almost all the fabric that I used is silk in order to represent fishes’ light movement and mimic their tails. Sequins were used to represent the fish scales. By contrast, I use black fabric to represent the background which is the dim and dark deep sea environment. Besides, I also paint the grow in the dark on the skirt since some fishes can give out light during the night and in this case, create a very different view during the day and night. Different people may hold a different point of view and feels different being look at a since thing. So I want people who view the clothes that design may feel my world and see how I feel and contact with the world.
