In this prototype I used the solvent Goof Off to dissolve and wipe away the ink from the photograph. It worked surprisingly well and didn’t tear or warp the paper at all. At first I used a rag but I found it much easier to use a handful of paper towels. I particularly like how there still remains some ink even after rubbing at it for a while. For my final, I plan on printing out a series of photos to wipe away at. Instead of color I am going to print in black and white to mimic obituary photos and further the idea that I am erasing gender. I don’t know how I am going to edit my video yet.
