For this project, I decided to create a jacket from the muslin. The jacket, which I sketched for the pattern collection, was a perfect match. I was interested in the idea of making exaggerated shapes for the shoulders of the piece. This detail from the design reminds me of the old victorian era dresses, but I wanted to make them more pointed in my design so that they will become more powerful – almost like armor. The main idea of my project is the empowerment of woman figure. I want to keep the figure feminine and attractive but at the same time strong.
I made a pattern for the jacket, but I decided to get rid of a zipper on the actual muslin model, but the main struggle was to make to the shoulders stiff and pointed. I did not quite achieve the goal, as my sleeves were more rounded.
