This proposed community center in Poplar, London was created in response to the lack of environmental, community, and food resources in an ethnic neighborhood. Upon further investigation, the center will be collaborating with Extinction Rebellion in addressing climate concerns, especially the disproportionate effects of climate change in low-income communities. The program of the center includes performance, workshop stations, food services, and public park access.
It is important to note that the premise of the project was to design a temporary 5-year project that could later be used in the future. The Studio 3 project also addresses alternatives to carbon-intensive materials by utilizing brick and gravel on site, as well as materials from existing Extinction Rebellion Installations.
