For my improvements in Union Square, I want to update the public facilities. The main thing I want to add is quality water fountains, maybe even bottle filling stations. I did a sketch of a possible water fountain. On my first map, I added squares where they may be located. I also think that there should be another bathroom but on the other side closer to 14th street. I also added a potential shop/coffee place in the center of the park which could increase public engagement. Honestly, I struggled with coming up for ideas for this and want to speak to you and my peers in class to gain insight on what could be better improved. I considered a way to make the monuments more well known and inform people better, as that was one of my map topics, but I did not love that idea so in class I hope to think of better ones. I want to come up with an intervention that strays from the original maps I made.
