Seek and Hide

For the Bridge 3 part B assignment we were given such a challenge. The project started off with 30 random photographs we found ourselves taking throughout the week. I know myself as a photographer and I’m drawn to anything with playful light, patterns, and more saturated reds in my photos. That was the easy part. When we came in with that part done, we were told to come up with a common concept that ran through all of the images. That wasn’t so bad but what was most challenging for me was finding a paper form that communicated the concept and helped to enhance it. I came up with cubes that had the same photo on the exterior planes and a different one that somehow related (visually, conceptually or just functionally). I decided to turn the cubes into a game. It would be a game for those who appreciate good design, photography and have a sense of adventure to explore the world. The idea is that the players are to differentiate the locations/address provided and go to one to start, find the corresponding image on a cube and find the interior location from that location. The spiral in the middle serves as a representative visual aid to inspire the journey. The space the cube creates serves as a container for the map the player is to make and even as a little bank for some notes or materials picked up alone the journey. Attached are my prototypes and finished products.Happy travels!img_4290 img_4291 img_4292 img_4293 img_4463 img_4461 img_4462 img_4400
