Assignment: Create five drawings while talking on the phone. Any medium is allowed. The focus is to be on process. Thoughts such as the task of filling up a piece of paper, the task of mark-making, the ever-present experience of time passing and its inescapability.
Outcome: I ended up drawing what the people were talking to me about or aimlessly drawing things around me if the conversation wasn’t intriguing.
What I learned: When you let yourself draw without specific intentions the outcomes can be better than something that was planned. It’s also very telling about your style of drawing.
