Weather Interview

Michelle Monceau (mom)

I grew up in a very small city in the coast of Ecuador. My mom moved there when she was 35 and lived there for 10 years. The weather in Ecuador has no seasons. What I remember from the weather was how different it was in every city. My mom lived in another city when she was 13, Quito. It is a city in the Andes mountains so it is very cold, I went to high school in Quito. Quito is know for being the city of four season in one day. When I woke up in the morning it was very cold and when I arrived to school it was so foggy that I couldbnt see anything. This is another thing that my mother remembers. When she drove from the coast up the Andes mountains she had to go really slow because of the fog. An interisting story that my parents told me is that the lighthouse (picture above) used to be at the end of the bay. And the ocean was a few miles away from this light house. There was even a park around it. But I don’t remember that because now the sea shore is right next to the light house and the waves go  over the streets and in the city.
