In my project, I will be making a piece made out of cardboard and yarn. For the process, I am going to cut various circles out of cardboard to give the piece structure and support the requirement of the minimal surface. The purpose of my piece is to make people go through my piece, as there is going to be long strands of yarn attached to the bottom of the cardboard structure (almost like a jellyfish). On top of that, my social action is the process of aging. Although it may not seem like a social action, I wanted to talk about the process of aging and all the interaction we have through our life time, not only all the social interactions, but also the different ways we socialize in different ages. And I think my piece supports my action, as it make the person go through it and each individual is going to have a different experience of the interaction with my piece. Lastly, in terms of the afterlife of this project, I have not yet made decision on what I’m going to do, but maybe ill hang it up in my room, or I’ll put the piece apart and recycle the materials for another project in the future.
