For my selection of 3 groups of ten drawings, I paired my blind contour, observational drawings of people, and the pieces that look visually abstract. Whenever I did an abstract drawing, it was because I got stuck and had no idea what to draw. The abstract drawings were very free and less thought out. I basically just let my hand free on to the page. For my blind contour drawings, I did most of them of people and very few landscape (interior spaces). When drawing my blind contour, I had a great oppurtunity to really observe and pay attention to details that normally go unnoticed. My drawings of people are all from observation. Two are self portrait and the rest are other people. I did them in the cafeteria while people were having lunch, in the library while people worked or studied, and on the subway as well.
