Bridge 1 Studio 2

In 1966, Fredric Baur invented the famous can used by Pringles potato chips. Its design fits perfectly with the tall stack that the chips form. However, over the years people have noticed a significant problem. A problem in which everyone who has bought a can of Pringles potato chips has acknowledged. The shorter the stack gets, the harder it is for us to reach in for our tasty snack. This happens because we have to try to fit our entire arm into the can and the moment in which we have to make a fist to grab a chip, we cannot because there is not enough space. This specific inconvenience has been happening for decades, but the problem has never been addressed. We have learned to deal with the problem rather than face it when there is definitely room for improvement. A great solution for this nationwide problem would be to add an opening at the bottom of the can. To be more specific, a small door that can slide open and close. Being able to start the chips from the bottom of the can would mean that we would never have to reach inside of the can for the chips again. The stack would get lower on its own. However, reaching the chips from the bottom of the can would also mean crumbs getting all over the place which is why the opening should be placed about an inch to an inch and a half above the bottom end of the can to allow a hollow space for the can to collect all of the crumbs. The chips would be placed on platform allowing enough room for at least two to three fingers to reach in and grab a chip. Both the sliding door and the platform would be made of the same material of the can, a hard card board material. This material would be much more eco friendly and easier to recycle.
