UN trip

During the middle of the semester, all of the sustainable systems classes met up at the United Nations for a conference talk on sustainability. Timo Rissanen and Executive Dean Joel Towers talked about the project in Denmark. Parsons created homes for Denmark that can sustain their own energy. The houses are made of sustainable materials and are also waste efficient.

Later that evening, Lauren Redness gave her presentation that was very different from Joel and Timo’s. She talked about her children’s book which combines her sustainable art. Her book discussed the importance of copper and included some of her own illustrations to go with the theme.

Many people were able to ask questions and give comments, however many of the speakers responses were very vague. They definitely could have given better feedback on the questions that were being asked.
