Natural dye experiment

For this natural dye experiment, I decided to use some wine left in my apartment as the dye. As I don’t have many bowls, I decided to use plastic cups:

In case I forget which one belongs to which bag of chemical, I put the cups on top of each bag after putting the chemicals in each cup. Then poured water in the cups, dissolved them using different spoons when stirring. I rinsed the cotton just as instructed, divided them into 7 small pieces, wrote the tags, and then used detergent to clean all the cotton.

I put the cotton in the pot where I put all the wine in, and left in the pot for 30 minutes, took the cotton out. Then I took a small piece out without rinsing again in the water, and the rest rinsed with water again. After doing so, I put each small pieces of cotton that I have already divided into each cup. Instantly, I could see the colors changing, it was fascinating to see the change in colors.

After leaving the cotton pieces in for about 30 minutes, I took them out, rinse them one by one and left them out to dry overnight.

I was surprised by the soda ash, as it turned green.

I tried to felt the rest of the cotton I had, failed a couple of times, and finally managed to felt a small ribbon out of the leftover cotton:
