Artist’s Statement:
Zines are ideal for collaboration. This booklet includes personal narratives that discuss and challenge the many issues that fall under the large umbrella of feminism. Each one of us created different pages, using the stylistic qualities of the zine Riot Grrl, to produced a more contemporary publication. This highlights how many of the issues that were integral to the movement back in the 90s, like patriarchy, sexism, sexual abuse and body image, are still relevant in today’s society. Having all navigated the world as females, we utilize this medium to join our shared experiences into a final product.
