With this project I wanted to explore the idea of ownership. Through the transferring of media via flash drive, I essentially wanted to “give” the receivers the right to take, manipulate, share, keep, remix, etc., my original work. For instance, many of the flash drives contained various songs that I wrote myself, but by sharing the mp3 of the song with the receiver, I am allowing them to do what they want with it. Whether that means keeping it to themselves or sharing it as their own, that was the gift I wanted to give. All in all I felt that this was a good project to close the class with. I wanted to give everyone something special… something that I put a lot of labor and love into. Aaron, I hope you are surprised and satisfied with the flash drive you chose. Thanks for a great semester! : )
