PROJECT #2–The Past Present Landscape –SPLIT DRAWING

Using marks we were to depict a cohesive landscape, where the side representing present conveys an ideal society and the past side represents the worst possible situation. By choosing Egypt and using the Egyptian ruins as the past portion of the landscape, the contrast between the two sides remained evident. I decided to use Egyptian hieroglyphs to spell out old and new as my marks further pushing the past present narrative. Overall, both the hand-drawn and computer rendered portions work together as one cohesive image with two distinct meanings.
