“Meet the climate refugees who already had to leave their homes”
Climate change is real, and we are experiencing it right now. Even I, a 19 years old teenager can see the change that is happening. The weather changed in my city, Istanbul. In summer it rains, in winter it is barely cold. 2 years ago it used to snow so much, I wasn’t able to go to school for 2 to 3 weeks. Now everything is shifting. It is not something that will happen in the future, it is happening right now!
This is a text that is about the Americans who had to leave their houses because of the climate change. After a point, they realized that their homes are not safe for them anymore. Sea levels started getting higher, even higher than their houses so they had to leave the place that they have lived for their entire lives. An entire community from Louisana coast was relocated. Their entire culture had to change and shift into a whole new world which was new for them. They had to leave everything they had, all of their history. And this did not only happen to them, but it also happened to many people all around the world.
Do not think that it won’t happen to you, it can happen to anyone…
