Space+Materiality Assignment#8- 3 Ted talks reflection

These three videos explain and give examples of technology being integrated and transformed into human body. The videos reveal how devices and products can be bused as a part of the human body, as well as extend our understanding of the human form and how these advancements can change the future.

In “How can technology can transform the human body video,” Lucy Mcrae speaks about the possibilities and advancements that can be achieved through merging technology and biology in our own bodies. Technology can enhance and reinvent with dynamic design into the human body. I was fascinated by the idea of being able to reprogram our own body odor, modify it, or biologically enhance it brings question into how it can alter the way humans communicate with each other in the future. I also learned that technology can translate color into audible frequencies. Songs, voices, speeches, etc can also be translated into color by its different frequencies. I found it fascinating how color blind artist Neil Harbisson, from “I listen to color,” is able to hear and relate to his surroundings and any aspect involving his senses into colors. The cyborg foundation created by the artist  made to encourage people to extend their senses by using technology as a function of the human body. Knowledge comes from our senses, so if senses are extended, we can potentially extend our knowledge. In “the prototype, making of,” I learned that prototypes such as prosthetic legs can be used to transform, enhance, and give power to one’s  body. I learned that prototypes not only made use for Any advancements but can also serve  as a statement. A prosthetic leg that functions really well with someone’s body it can enhance and transform one into something else and allows people to express themselves freely.
