Bridge Project #2

For our second bridge project, Pamela asked our class to ask our parents about a memory and then compare and contrast that story to others in our class. My story was about how my parents met and left their partners to be with each other; my dad left his girlfriend at the time first. I wanted to draw something alike to medieval drawings but connect it to my own history, so I drew my mother as a siren, a creature that was seen throughout traditional mythic, medieval depictions. My dad is represented by the fisherman on a boat- there’s one other guy who is meant to be the roommate of her friends boyfriend. I included a few mediums and line work in this piece; I used paints, pens, and markers. I wanted it to be playful and colorful like the story my mom told me.
