Deconstruction

In my previous ESL class, the professor asked us to choose the topic about argument/persuasion essay for the final project. At first, I honestly had no idea what should I choose, since we cannot choose a very broad topic or anything that is really popular, such as should gay marriage allowed or not, should marijuana be legalized, and so on. As a result, it was quite difficult to select a suitable and interesting topic, I was totally stuck. Nevertheless, I still had to confront it, and then started brainstorming for a really long time. All of a sudden, I recalled one of the articles that I have read before. It was a pretty debatable and infamous topic few months ago– “Is Zara copying others’ works?”. I chose my side without any hesitation, which is I strongly think Zara is copying other artists and designers’ works. I directly wrote down my topic sentence, “Zara definitely plagiarized others’ designs and turned them into their own products.” Since I have seen a lot of stuffs from Zara that were so similar to others, and I did not think the brand’s behavior is tolerable. I immediately turned on my laptop and started googling, and I found out that there are so many illustrations to support my position. For example, Zara not only took countless less-known artists’ motifs, but also other renowned fashion brands’ design. While I was researching, I was so disappointed and pretty mad at what Zara has done. However, it still could not dampen my enthusiasm, I was so excited that I could not wait to start my first draft. Just in several hours, I finished my research paper, and I was quite satisfied about the outcome. After few days, I looked back to proofread, I then found out that it was literally a mass. The paper was full of grammar errors, wrong spelling  and a lot of silly mistakes. Under all of sorts of reluctance, I decided to face and correct it. After struggling for a while, I submitted on canvas with my confidence. Nonetheless, the professor said I should add more about my personal stance rather than put these many citation and information in it. To be honest, I was quite shocked, since this method of writing was totally different from my high school’s style. I then unwillingly deleted a lot of detail, which I spent a lot of time on researched it. I still clearly remembered that was a really hard time for me, I thought the more details I wrote, the higher score I will get. And yet, it was totally in contrast to what I thought. Finally, I omitted those not unnecessary parts and added my own ideas instead, and handed in the final draft with anxiety. But it seemed like the hard work paid off, I received an A on this assignment. When I received my transcript, I still could not forget how joyful and proudful I was. Even though these process cost lots of time, but it turned out an awesome essay, and it is absolutely worthy.
