FINAL TOOLKIT

For my final toolkit presentation, I created a box covered in velvet fabric to reflect the intended purpose of the toolkit, which is to raise awareness about the negative outcomes of fast-fashion and it’s production process. Inside, the toolkit consists of a small card that says “Fast Fashion Resources” to showcase the brand of the box and let people know what the contents of the toolkit consist of. The next item is a small pamphlet that provides information and insight into the fast fashion industry. The guide gives a brief explanation of what fast fashion is and what the negative outcomes are in specific. There is also a small poster with tips and resources on how to be sustainable in fashion. For example, the poster provides a list of stores that provide quality clothing made organically at a reasonable price, all the while paying their employees a livable wage. It also includes a list of sustainable fabrics to be aware of when purchasing apparel. The final item of the box is a bag made from organic cotton that also acts as a scarf. A small guide is provided to instruct the user on how to transform the item from a bag to scarf. Overall, I am pleased with the outcome of my toolkit and feel as though my desired message is spoken through the piece.  If I were to change anything, I would include the logo of my brand on the outside of the box, rather than solely having it on the inside. I believe this project was helpful in teaching me how to connect real world problems to sustainability and formulating how to tackle the issue in an artisitic way, which I believe is very important, especially today.
