Value – Drawing and Imaging

The starting point of our project was at the Brooklyn Museum. We draw different sculptures to our sketchbooks and chose a few of them to make line drawing. Which then placed line drawings to Illustrator and go over with pen tool.

I also needed to add some personal objects. I draw my headsets since it’s something truly belongs to me and I use them every day.

After getting the illustrator files ready I came up with a rough draft of the arrangements how objects will be placed in illustrator. I will be using the positive and negative technique which is every object is black and the background is white, any overlapping pieces also will be white.

as I said a rough draft.
But I think it turned out pretty good.

After trying out the positive and negative technique and knockout technique I made a pencil drawing of the final setup and went over the lines with a pen.

and here is with positive and negative

and also tried the negative and positive

After the positive and negative trial, I went back to only strokes and start adding geometrical shapes in illustrator. My biggest goal was to create the balance in the painting with adding shapes in places required. And shapes really connects the all objects together and creates a movement in the illustration.

After the illustrator part was complete I added hand made patterns to the final form. In my final form, I wanted to keep things simple and more minimalist form. I mostly worked with lines to connect the objects better. Working with mostly straight lines and mostly changing the density of lines in different parts.

In my exhibition, I wanted to show my keeping things simple and straight lines and it was important to place the illustrations correctly.
