This garment was inspired by Chinatown with a focus on personal space. When walking around in Chinatown, I noticed various acupuncture shops. In my garment, I decided to take these needles and to use them to construct shoulder pads with porcupine-like blades to scare people away.
Additionally, I decided to make a hat inspired by traditional Chinese lanterns to create a “bubble” of personal space.
