Erté, or Romain de Tirtoff, is recognized as one of the founders go the Art Deco movement. I think I first found his work when I was scrolling through Pinterest one day. He has a series of prints where he takes the human form and makes the alphabet out if it. At the time I saw this it inspired the way I drew. He also designed costumes for the French theatre. I enjoy his style of work greatly, they’re these truly awesome fashion illustrations essentially. He also had a contract with Harper’s Bazaar for awhile.
