Assignment #5- 3D paper polyhedrons
The Assignment was to create 5 3D polyhedrons using 2D nets of paper. First, using an Olfa knife I cut out all of the polyhedron nets from the paper. Then I folded all of the dotted lines in order to accurately connect the shape. Finally, I added glue to the inside flaps of the paper nets using a glue stick and connected all the sides.
Overall, the assignment was a bit of a challenge because it was quite finicky to be able to attach all of the sides to create the full polyhedron. The initial cutting out and attachment wasn’t difficult, but once you reached the last one or two sides that had to be connected it was complicated to be able to attach the two without breaking your previous work. However, it was helpful to be able to put them together because it helped me understand how I could construct these shapes out of other materials in the future.
