Summer – Objects as History – Presentation – Ardabil Carpet

Objective:

Each week, one or two students will choose an object from the unit list, and proceed to describe and contextualize the object within its period, introducing material from the readings to create a classroom discussion. The students will then provide a short outline of the period itself to supplement the object, and to describe the skills, concepts, and the important roles the period played to the creation of the object. The student can then explain the object’s contemporary relevance to today’s society, providing its importance to our history. Other students are expected to come to class with two questions for the week’s presenters.”
