I found this place called “Space 55 Mart” in China town and I had an unspoken feeling about this place. It’s kind of poetically surreal to me if I have to describe it in english. Maybe it’s because they added the building number inside of the name of the place. So does the building called “Fukang 55”. I want to shoot a film about this building, based on my own experience of love and loneliness. I have an idea about the script of the movie and some scenes of the movie and I really like it. I was influenced by my favourite films “First Love：The Litter on The Breeze” and “Go Go Second Time Virgin”. The name of the film is 富康55大厦 (the name of the building), english translation “Fukang 55” (not decided yet). It’s about a boy moved in this building and he fell in love with the former owner of the apartment who doesn’t exist. Since I don’t have any knowledge about shooting and movie making, I don’t think I can really complete this film in this semester (I really like the idea so I want to make it seriously and not rush it), so I’m thinking of completing the main clue of the film as the final project – the diaries and photographs of the former owner left in the apartment. I’m not sure if that’s qualified as a final project, and the diaries will be composed in Chinese. If that’s not qualified as a final project I’ll think of doing something else besides the film.
