Reflecting on Realms of the Unreal

Do I have my own realms of the unreal that I sometimes visit?

Yes.

I know I have realms of the unreal. Realms that I have come back to many times. The one distinction between these realms I end in and the realms I believe are being asked of in this question is that, though I have fabricated these realms, I do not consciously choose when I visit them. In fact, whenever I do realize I am back in one of these realms – or perhaps they all fit together into one big realm somehow – I feel like I have been thrown back into it, and the feeling is almost eerie sometimes. These realms exist in my dreams. As I sleep through different nights, sometimes months apart, during different dreams I have many times comes to the realization – sometimes awake and others while still asleep – that I have been in the setting of my dream before. The details in these worlds are often so distinct – a run down carousel at the entry of a fog ridden low town or a landscape made entirely of intertwining and massive sandstone resurrections – that it would seem they are entire different realms from one another; each of which has been host to plethora a dreams. Like being thrown in a Mario Kart race without getting to choose your theme, and without realizing you have started to play game in the first place.
