Bridge 4 Critique

My group and I were assigned to create a newspaper that reflected the various aspects of Jackson Heights in Queens. I was tasked with writing an article on industry in the neighborhood as well as build the layout and overall look and feel of the newspaper. My initial design and layout for the newspaper was rough yet spoke organization and artistry. Based on my classes critiques, I began a second version, focusing on improving the weak points in my layout. After redesigning and reformatting my layout I presented to class with the final piece. I think it turned out very well and fit the rubric. Overall, the both the design and layout were strong and the showcased my creative ability as well as my ability to take inspiration from pre existing content and remix it for my intended purpose. That being said, there were still some issues and critique to be given. My peers pointed out that there was still no copy information for the photographs and and many of the advertisements had no contact number. If I had the chance to submit a new version, I would definitely go back and change those small inconsistencies but I would chose to keep my original layout and design as I think they are very strong.
