“New Gods” February 28th update – Core Studio/Seminar 3D

I started the floor but hated the way it looked since it was starting to get really sloppy. I was kinda impatient while doing it and the pieces were different sizes and not lining up causing distortion. I actually ended up redoing the floor four times and I’m finally happy with how it is looking. In the first two pictures, you can see just how warped the pattern was becoming, and in the third, you can see my fourth and final attempt and how it was meant to look. I also added the arrows into the perfectionism bust, trimmed and painted the eyelashes on the other busts, and painted all the bases. I haven’t photographed the stone wall since I finished painting it but that’s done too. I’m beginning to photograph and edit the pictures for the individual pieces, here are just a few of the shots I took earlier. I will be documenting most angles in normal white light and playing around with the colored mood lighting for only a few of the shots.

While I am not technically behind schedule I’m not as far along with the diorama as I wanted to be (the floor really set me back). I still have to finish the descriptions for each piece, make the curtains/benches/arches, and photograph/edit the other pieces and the diorama together. I’m going to nix the idea of creating a miniature model of myself since I’m short on time. I know this seems like a lot to get done by the fourth but I’ll definitely be able to complete it in time.
