I challenged myself to create a sculpture using different textures and materials. This light is assembled using copper mesh, two different weights of textured paper and christmas lights. The most challenging part of this project is creating the mesh layer. It was hard to control. The mesh is extremely sharp and its nature is to grab onto any surfaces. When I was placing the inner shapes into the mesh, the structure was almost torn apart because of the sharp edges. After a few attempts, I successfully attached the platonic solids to its outer layer and channeled the three layers together with christmas lights. Overall, I was satisfied with my final result even though it turned out to be a little different than what I had in mind.
