The Fashion System Response

We often say pictures are worth a thousand words, but what about the one idea that we can not express through an image? How do we communicate that one missing idea to the audience? One might think it is unnecessary to explain fashion through language when it can be visually presented. Or perhaps, images and photography can better present an accurate visual than words could ever achieve. As how I see it, there is a balance between texts and images where language and visual interdependent on one another. As a visual thinker, I am more drawn to images than texts. When I think, I see images and symbols in my mind rather than texts. However, from time to time, I incorporate language to help me state my ideas. For instance, as I read the directions of the product before purchasing, I always find myself looking through the images first. I will then arrive at the text sections to clarify any misunderstandings. Images capture the audience’s attention more than text do and they have the ability to clarify a conceptual idea where as language further discuss the dense theoretical act or it assists our understanding.
