Bridge 3

I have build the text “propaganda” entirely out of Hershey’s chocolates as my response to their practice of illegal child labour. Propaganda is just a technique companies use to package their products and the brands themselves. Undoubtedly, corporations have often time exaggerated or repackaged their stories to create a positive brand image. As one of the many consumers, naturally we would believe anything they promote due to the scale of the company and its credibility. However, every companies have secrets to hide. I have intentionally reversed the letter ‘D’ to show even if the company promoted something less ideal, the consumers will barely notice it. Even if they do, they would not likely to question it just as how even the letter ‘D’ is reversed, the audience could still recognize the word without much problem.

I have showed two sides of stories to this project. Out happiness is built upon someone’s misery. Just as we are enjoying the sweets of the chocolate as how the companies promoted it, there are hundreds and thousands of children working, harvesting and even dying. That is why I have put stuffed toys underneath the word. The toys represent the child labour. The weight of the chocolate industry is built upon their bodies, crushing them entirely.
