A PROPOSAL FOR DRAWING/IMAGING: PEOPLE, FASHION TEMPLATE – FINAL PROJECT

CONCEPT:
I propose a life-size collage of the garments I am designing to address the issue of self-denial. The collage consists of three pages and will be layered on top of each other. Then each page will be torn slightly to reveal the layer underneath. The very first layer will be pristine and clean, showing the flawless side we try to present to others.The second and third layers will be more distorted to show the corruption of mind. The person wearing them will also show a progress of breaking down as it get to the bottom page. The garments will have many divisions that will be filled in with different textures and colours.
MATERIALS:
I will use a combination of water colour, fine-liner, pencil, photos, fabrics and Adobe Photoshop. This collage will be made mainly in photoshop and perhaps illustrator. I will then print it out and add some additional textures by hand.

RESEARCH:
I am inspired by onions and its unique way of decaying from the most inner layer. It is almost impossible to judge if an onion is rotten from the outside. I will be collecting different images of rotten onions and use them as references and inspiration for my designs.
CLASS REFERENCE:
I will use, figures, watercolor painting, proportion and scale, colour, pattern repeat in illustrator and the Photoshop montage techniques.
FINAL PRESENTATION:
The final collage will be life-size. Aside from the torn collage, I will be printing out each individual collage and my sketches to show my process. All the images incorporated in the collage will be on a separate piece of paper to show my reference.
