reflection-Climate change and cities

In the reading of Climate change and cities, part 3 section 4 and 7 talks about the consequences of climate change that could affect human activities in the future. Section 3 introduces this energy system that could be implemented in cities in the future and also are interested in some of the policymakers. The reading also mentions some cities put their main focus on solving climate changes but some cities are not able because, for developing countries, there is usually a lack of access to reliable energy. Therefore, climate change and other environmental issues become their secondary concerns. Some of the research indicates that climate change has become a big issue for local energy systems in different ways. Furthermore, section 7 mentions that climate change could also affect human health in many different ways. According to the United Nations, the world’s population will grow from today’s 7.5 billion people to 10 billion in 2050. And as natural resources like farmland and water become scarce, living in a safe environment will become an even greater challenge. The reading talks about that cities concentrate populations, therefore, extreme weather events affect a much larger number of people than when the strike less populated regions.
