1st Project Upload

Project 2- To make a deconstructed version of our project 1 (utopia gif) in indesign and upload on canvas.

The reason i consider this project my most proud one is because I learnt a new software, indesign in which I had no previous knowledge.

1st step- I began this process by first sketching out how I would want my layout to look. This included a variety of hit and trials. I prefer doing this step by hand on paper than digitally as I feel personally it is easier to sketch out something faster than to make it digitally.

2nd step- In this step i began by making each element of my utopia gif again on illustrator, and arranging and showing the steps like before and after colour, before and after 3d, before and after facial expressions.

After this step, i started adding texts and arrows and organising them in illustrator.

3rd step- I started placing all the components that i made in illustrator into indesign. This was a challenging step for me as I had never learnt or worked with indesign before.

Final step- The submission of the indesign file had to be in such a way that the gif would move in the file and the deconstructed parts would be visible in it. The layout had to be visually and aesthetically appealing.

In here I’m uploading a version of the deconstruction where you can see how the gif would look like when its moving. However the original final just had one moving gif in the middle.

Reflection- I have learnt the most from this till now from any of my classes. I learnt how to make a gif, how to export it, how to work in indesign, how to make a gif move in indesign and also how to take the components from illustrator into indesign.

I am also happy with the outcome of the project as the layout is how i imagined it to be.

After receiving constructive criticism from my classmates and my professor, I now also know where my mistakes are, which would help me in future projects.
