My research topic is the federal legalization of cannabis in the United States. This essay will explore where the issue of federal legalization stands now in the 21st century and how right-wing lobbying, community design, and the allocation of certain demographic groups within the development of urban and suburban settings have associations to cannabis in terms of defining social practices and government regulations in present day America. I want to synthesize an argument that incorporates art and music supporting legalization (for example, dancehall music of the 60s developing into modern day Reggae and hip-hop) to corroborate the ethos/pathos of the aforementioned movement pertaining to a liberation front.
