After the meditation period, my keyword is order. I got to Gustave Dore as my artist by exploring the concept of order and making associations with the design elements of his wood engravings.
Gustave Dore was born in Strasbourg in 1833. At the age of fifteen, he moved to Paris to pursue his career as a painter/artist. Dore was almost entirely self taught. His independent sales made him an artist to be recognized at the time. He died in the year 1883.
