Artist Discovery Post: Bato Dugarzhapov – Warm Undulation

Reason of the choice:
During the meditating session, I was constantly having a feeling of being shaken from my inner self, by a spiral of metaphysical undulation that shifts in its colors from dark purple, orange to vivid blue. It had  been giving me physical sensation that is similar to dizziness, but without any sort of pain or other unpleasure feelings. After I was deeply centered, I started to flashbacks of my memories has occurred to my mind; memories when I was back in Hawaii, spending time with my good friends under sunny, dry weather. Being helped by the fact that I was in a very warm room at the moment when I was meditating, I almost felt dreamy while those flashbacks were filling my mind.

After centering session, I was hovering and browsing on “Aesthetic Sharer ZHR”; a Twitter account that shares various visual artists from worldwide countries. Then I found this Russian painter named Bato Dugarzhov, who has ambitiously working on oil paintings in impressionism style. His expression of optical colors has exceedingly matched with the dreamy images and body sensation I was having during the session; thus easily made me choose him as my Artist for the discovery post.

Biography:
“Bato Dugarzhapov (1966 – ) was born in Duldurga in the Chita Region of Siberia. He studied at Moscow Art School and graduated from Surikov’s Moscow Art Institute. He is a member of the Moscow Union of Artists, and lives and works in Moscow.

A key strength in Dugarzhapov’s work is his excellent combination of both far music and near music. The compositions are always very strong, with an interesting arrangement of shapes, and beautiful color harmonies. He uses many types of contrast: contrast of detail, contrast of temperature, and contrast of thick and thin. The paintings are usually painted in middle values with a few dark accents, and sometimes in a high key to emphasize the feeling of strong sunlight.”
