Constriction Process
Responding to the handout on Bridge Project 4, I thought of creating a piece related to the transgender community of Pakistan. Last week I casted my friends’ lower body with alginate and plaster. The plaster overflew, and the sculpture wasn’t solid enough with cracks so taking into Professor Yana Dimitrova’s suggestion, I covered the cracks with more plaster and plaster bandage. It works but while removing the alginate, the sculpture broke. Over this week I will try to sand the sculpture down and fix the broken pieces. I have the wood and will start writing on it with black marker in Urdu so make it stand out. Lastly, for the finishing I will put gold metallic sheet on the white sculpture to make it stand out.
