Value Scales

Final Value scale-Kazmi-217p7kd

Process:

Part 1: Value scale in Illustrator

Creating the scale in illustrator was the easiest part of the project. The gradual changes in shades from white to black were really smooth and interesting somehow.

Part 2: Digital Value Scale

This was perhaps the toughest part of the project for me. I couldn’t find images and textures that would blend well with the first value scale. I had to back and change the brightness for some of them in Photoshop.

Part 3: Hand Drawn Value Scale

First, I made the scale with charcoal and misunderstood this step. After the review in class, I understood what I had to do. Then I created slanted lines with a black marker and imitated the colors of the first two value scales as closely as I could.
