You will undergo/enjoy 7 days of “Creative Dating” with your partner, which will inspire your written interview for seminar and a video portrait for studio. The 1-3 themes focused on in the seminar interview should inform the video portrait for studio.

O:  Wow, sounds like you have already planned your future. So are you a person who plans everything for yourself?

C:  Yes, I am. I plan everything ahead to have a sense of security. With plans, I will have pressure when chasing the goal, however by efficiently utilizing the pressure, to me, the pressure becomes a source of energy to push me forward.

O:  It sounds like you have a habit to plan almost everything in your life and prefer to keep your growth progress in control. Do you always have a concrete plan for your creative projects before you start?

C:  Firstly, I always think about the process very clearly and plan every step. I will change it during the practice because a plan is never perfect. I have always designed the plan ahead with detailed steps and gradually modified the work during practice.

O: You have mentioned that there are lots of talented students in the school,so what do you think is the most important thing for a designer and how do you plan to stand out eventually?

C:In my opinion, the ability to have creative ideas is the soul of an outstanding artist. The basic technique for being a designer is necessary but is not significant for being the best. The ability to be innovative and creative could not be studied and copied. To be unique is what a designer should chase. And that is the core value of a prominent designer.

O:You said you always have some inspirational ideas for your projects, so in what condition do most of your creative thoughts emerge to your mind? From your present life or your memories from your childhood?

C:Most of my ideas are inspired by the books and magazines I have read. My childhood has also brought me a lot of ideas. My childhood was so different compared with the fast tempo life now, but I have learned how to catch the rhythm of our business life. Sometimes I will have creative ideas when I feel peaceful inside. What I have learned in my life is never rush to the last minute, find yourself a quiet place and enjoy the serenity, the creative idea will pop into your mind without any omen. Under the fast social development, new ideas could only blow a brief fresh air to our lives; therefore, I have to absorb new elements and keep my pace with the trends.

O:I profoundly agreed with your idea, sometimes because of lacking time, I felt anxious and could not have a better idea of the project. I should try to calm my mind first before any creative project. Your effort to transfer ideas into real artwork and to optimize the quality of the work has inspired me to keep the standard high. The pursuit of perfection is significant to every designer and artist; it is the soul of sculpturing ideas into reality.I enjoyed talking with you today; hope you will have a more beautiful memory in Parsons and realize your dream sooner.
