I finished making my garment and I’m happy with the result. Except for the print of the skirt, I have stitched the entire garment by hand and this is the first time I have stitched anything by hand. The garment does look similar to the inital sketches I made using watercolor.
Though while stitching, I did struggle a bit – sometimes the thread would get knotted and I would have to restart from scratch and sometimes I miscalculated the measurements, therefore the thread would be short. Many-a-times I would loose the needle, so I would have to keep searching for a new one.
So after finishing the garment, I had to go back to Chinatown to do the photoshoot with my garment. Here are a few shots from the photoshoot :
We walked through Mott street and two or three streets parallel to it, in search of a good location to shoot the photos. We did over a 100-200 shots and some of them were just photos of us just fooling around. It was fun doing the photoshoot.
