Title Sequence Project

My TV series is a crime show (Drama/Crime) set in NYC that will feature images of cop cars, an ambulance, guns, drugs, and landscape shots of the city. After initial feedback from class I did not change the concept but after the showing of the 30 second version I went to film for shots of police cars and some shots of precincts. After feedback from the first full version I deleted blur effects on videos of guns, rearranged some of the zoom-out shots, and changed the ending shot back to the original ending shot I used as suggested by classmates.

Understanding Comics Chapter 4 spoke on the relationship between movement and time and how there are many things, including panels and captions, that change the way time operates in comics. While this does not apply to my title sequence apart from the transition from day to night at the beginning, it applies to title sequences in which a story line is represented or that involves movement of characters from shot to shot. In this regard it is important to pay attention to how a characters movement stays continuous while using camera angle changes to ensure the fluidity of the story without confusing the viewer. Often this is rather intuitive and ensures that the character stays on the same movement path as they would in real life and simply changing the camera angle and the viewer’s brain will do the rest.
