Collapsed in Time

Class: Time

Something happens when you put two images together. Sometimes they blend, sometimes they don’t. Sometimes they contrast, others they don’t. This time, things were different.

The project portrays how humanity has tried to recover from something so tragic as a bomb – Hiroshima – and how we have built above our history in an attempt to forget the unforgettable. How, as time passes by, we seem to move on without looking back, ignoring the lives that were lost, the plants that were burnt, and the screams that were heard. But sometimes we forget that even if we try to cover up our history, we are still building above existent ruins; ones that will always remain – like memories.

This is a short-Clip video in which two images of the same place – one taken the day after the Hiroshima bomb was launched, and another taken on 2015 – collapse. This is the collision of the past and the present. The collision of time.
