Empty Room Escape

The game I chose to play is called “Empty Room Escape.” I wasn’t sure what I wanted to play, so I went back to my flash game roots and picked out one of the many games available on addictinggames.com. I had never played this particular game before, but I have played similar puzzle-filled room escape games in the past. The goal of the game is obviously to escape the empty room. There are clues hidden in various places around the somewhat empty-looking room and puzzles that the player must figure out using the clues they find. It is necessary for the player to find these clues in order to advance in their escape. The basic rules of the game were to use the items and clues to solve puzzles. The room is “locked,” so the only way to advance through the game would be to solve puzzles. Items could be combined together if necessary, and it is possible to use an item to help solve the puzzle. This small game also has a save button so you could continue your escape if you aren’t able to finish in one sitting. This is a single player game, meaning there are no other players to interact with. The only interaction that goes on in the game is the pointing of the mouse on the screen to grab items and press on puzzles. The game has a fairly simple layout, which makes it a bit more challenging to figure out where the items would be. It is also very user-friendly since the only controls needed are to just point and click. You are able to move around the room by clicking arrows. This game is also very accessible since it is a flash game available on various free sites and can be played on pretty much any computer. The game was overall fun to play. It was frustrating at times when I was lost on what to do or where to go next. Fun for me in this game was being stumped for a while and then after multiple tries finally doing something right. Though, for others that might be too frustrating and without patience a player probably won’t enjoy this game as much. This room escape game was easy to play, challenging enough to frustrate me a bit, and fun enough for me to stay until the end to finish and “escape” the empty room.
