Halloween Game Expo!

First off, let me say that I had so much more fun at this Halloween Game Expo than I expected to. It was so cool to see all of these games, whether it was a retro platformer or a super cool VR experience. I was also so happy to see so many youngsters present at the event. They all looked so adorable in their costumes. My favorite part the event, other than the free pizza and snacks, was playing a game about medieval knights with guns and speakeasies that helped refuel your bullets and health. It was an interesting one, and it took me a little more than 5 minutes to die, which I was surprised about since I am not very good at first person shooter games. I was going to go for another round, but a little boy standing next to me seemed like he wanted to play so I let him try it out. Let me just say he was much better than me after he got the hang of the controls. I also enjoyed a game that was about hitting a soccer ball into a bell. It had a very simple design, and was easy to play. Yet, I still managed to make 3 goals on myself and lost the game because of that. It was all good though. A game set up right next door was a cute one. It was a 2 player game where each person played a box and you had to basically “smash,” or kill, the other box. The first person to win 3 rounds won the match. The design had a very specific aesthetic and the boxes made cute lil’ sounds, which I wasn’t expecting from a killer box. I almost won that game, but lost twice to two random strangers. After going through all the games, I wanted to wait until the Miku Game Jam awards were decided and given out, but I was too tired to stay. After a few hours I left and grabbed some teriyaki chicken before I got home. I’m glad I went to this event because I’m not the person who usually enjoys expos, but this one was a blast.
