My name is Rebecca Foote and I am a designer and fashion design student. Fashion is so universal; it relates to everyone, whether they know it or choose to acknowledge it. It’s a wearable art form that is expressed every single day, and it is incredibly experimental and influential. Fashion design can be taken in any direction and have any meaning. I love designing and making beautiful pieces out of nothing, but I find it so satisfying to be able to bring to my designs and ideas to life. For me, it’s about tangibility – sewing and creating things with my hands, that I can touch and feel and rip apart and try on and wear. There’s this joy that I get from sewing and wearing items I’ve created or seeing others wear them that I just don’t get from doing digital work because it’s more of an experience when it’s in my hands and on a physical body. I do what I do because I love to do it, and it’s as simple as that.
