Clothing the Self

The lace represents my darker side of my identity and my past with mental health issues. I want it to be cut cropped to show a feminine side to my identity and even though I have body issues I find it’s important to my identity to face my fears and have a garment that shows my imperfections so I can learn to accept them.

I found these two fabrics which caught my eye because I liked the design and lightness of the first fabric to go with my loose garment and showed the type of “bohemian” look I wanted to go for, which says a lot about my free spirit and I just identify it with nature. The Red fabric was for the knotting I want to do to represent the Arabian side, and to show my Algerian identity.
