[Bridge 2] Concepts behind

Basically the idea in both of the first drafts were identical – the only two differences were the material and some elements in the background.

What I felt when I was talking with Farida was that we had so many things in common. The only difference that I found was that she was much stronger than me mentally – she had gone through much more than I had, and seemed to be much refined and opened person than me – so I wanted to save this characteristic to the imaginary character composed of me and her.

My character is set to be born and raised in Korea where everything is so conservative, and I wanted to show this through her clothing and the style of painting except for her face. Although she is born in such culture and raised to be a weak female in a Confucian society, she knows how to act independently – I want to show this strong mental through her eyes, which will be the most realistic part of the painting. The background elements that shows Golden Gate Bridge shows the background of Farida which I also wanted to be melted in my composite character.
